There’s more to the Allamakee County Fair than grandstand entertainment and livestock shows—our fair is packed with contests and events that bring the whole community together! Whether you're showcasing your talents, cheering on a favorite competitor, or just looking for a fun way to join in the fair excitement, there's something for everyone.

From traditional Open Class Exhibits featuring everything from baked goods and crafts to homegrown vegetables and photography, to the high-energy action of Mutton Bustin’ for the littlest rodeo stars, our fairgrounds come alive with friendly competition and local pride.

Outside the barns and buildings, we keep the momentum going with community-wide events like the Allamakee County Fair 5K, inviting runners and walkers of all ages to lace up their shoes and take part in this family-friendly race through Waukon.

Additional contests and pop-up events happen throughout fair week and beyond—so whether you’re competing, spectating, or just here to make memories, you won’t want to miss a minute.
